Teen shot to death on Lorain's south side; suspect in custody for tampering with evidence

LORAIN, Ohio — An 18-year-old man is dead and one suspect is in custody following a shooting on the south side of Lorain late Monday night.

According to police, officers arrived at a home on the 2100 block of East 31st Street and found Gabriel A. Blevins (pictured above) lying outside after being shot in the stomach. He was immediately transported to Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital, but he died from his injuries.

At this time, 22-year-old Antonio Monticue (who lives at the home where the shooting occurred) has been arrested and charged with tampering with evidence in connection with Blevins' death. Monticue was due to be arraigned in Lorain Municipal Court Tuesday morning.

No one else has currently been charged. Authorities stress they are still investigating this incident.

Blevins is the second teen to be shot to death in Lorain County in as many days: This past Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was killed on Furnace Street in Elyria. Another 17-year-old is in custody, also on a charge of tampering with evidence.
