Man arrested after allegedly abducting a woman in City of Green

AKRON, Ohio — On Monday, February 8th at around 10:15 p.m., Summit County deputies were called regarding a woman who was reportedly kidnapped in the City of Green.

Deputies say 56-year-old Perry Bivens had been sending the woman threatening text messages earlier that day.

The victim was then able to reach out and contact someone, who then in turn contacted law enforcement officers. Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday night, deputies from the Summit County Sheriff's Office and the Portage County Sheriff's Office found the female at Biven's home.

The woman was recovered safely. She did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

Bivens was taken into custody and charged with Abduction (F-3).  He was transported to Summit County and booked into the Summit County Jail.

No other information has been released.
