ASHLAND, Ohio — A Youngstown area doctor is facing charges for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl in the Ashland area.

According to a release issued by the Ashland County Prosecutor's Office, 51-year-old Dr. Albert Aiad-Toss, of Canfield, allegedly traveled to an Ashland County hotel to have sex with the 12-year-old.

"We have significant evidence that shows the arrangements being made and we have witnesses who will testify about what happened," Ashland County Prosecutor Chris Tunnell said in the release.

Aiad-Toss was taken into custody in Florida as he was returning to the U.S. from a trip to Peru. He will be extradited back to Ashland County.

According to the release, Aiad-Toss has practiced as an internist and emergency room physician in the Youngstown area. WFMJ reports that he is an ER doctor at St. Elizabeth in Boardman, but is no longer on the hospital schedule following the allegations.

Now a U.S. citizen, he is a 1990 graduate of the Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt.
