'These are crazy times, so if a simple thing like a desk can make them any less crazy for some of our kids, I'm going to try,' he said on Facebook.

CANTON, Ohio — John Huntsman, a teacher in the Canton City School District, took action when he realized some students were attending remote classes while sitting on the floor or in bed.

That's why he started making desks for students using his own money.

"These are crazy times, so if a simple thing like a desk can make them any less crazy for some of our kids, I'm going to try," he said according to a post on the district’s Facebook page.

Earlier this week, the district noted that he has built 11 desks so far. Some other colleagues have also donated chairs.

School officials said he’s accepting donations for materials so more desks can be made. See how you can help HERE.
