EUCLID, Ohio — Euclid High School is closed Tuesday, Dec. 3 after an alleged threat.

The interim superintendent tells 3News a student heard a verbal threat and notified their coach of the situation.

“The matter is being thoroughly investigated,” school officials said when announcing the closure Tuesday morning. “The safety of students and staff is our first concern as we take all threats seriously.”

All after-school activities have also been canceled Tuesday.

“The most important protection against violence is prevention,” school officials added. “We encourage all students to report any suspicious, dangerous or concerning behavior to our administrative team or other trusted adult.”

No other Euclid school buildings were included in the threat.

Officials say anybody can call Euclid City Schools’ Safe Line at 216-797-6998.
