Ohio State Highway Patrol issues warning during the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Each year, the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer spans from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During this time, more than one third of all fatal traffic crashes and deaths occur. 

This summer, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging people to be diligent and drive buckled, focused and sober this summer.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol 336 fatal crashes killed 360 people in 2018. 37 percent of all fatal crashes were OVI related and 28 percent were speed related.

According to reports, during these 100 days, 55 percent of all motorcycle accidents happen with 25 percent being fatal.
