Local school districts have issued warnings after a threat was posted to social media against "SHS."

The threat did not specify a school or district, meaning area districts are taking precautions.

"Yes SHS is the school I want," the Facebook post says under the name Ray Andres with no profile picture.

A second post says, "I will not be telling people what my name is, but I will bring a gun to school Tomorrow, so be prepared to hear shoots."

Sandusky Police Chief John Orzech said the threatening post appeared to be outside the Sandusky jurisdiction, but police presence was increased at schools Thursday.

Strongsville City Schools Superintendent Cameron Ryba also posted about the threat, nothing that the district is aware of it and taking it seriously.

Solon police met with Solon School District administrators last night and determined there is no specific threat against the district. Police say they heightened security at the high school Thursday.

The Springfield Local School District also increased police presence at its buildings, but said no credible threats were found targeting any of its schools.

Streetsboro police emphasized the threat was not against its district schools, noting the post has made its way across the U.S.

Shaker Heights Schools posted a message to parents on its website, noting that the school day would operate as normal with heightened security.
