Cleveland Clinic, Clorox release additional safety guide after July partnership announcement

'Safer at Home During the Coronavirus Pandemic' aims at just that, keeping people and their loved ones safe at home.

CLEVELAND — The Clorox Company and the Cleveland Clinic have released Safer at Home During the Coronavirus Pandemic, the second safety guide after announcing a partnership last month to support public health in the ongoing pandemic.

The guide shares best practices for households that can help people protect themselves and their loved ones, as well as their communities, from COVID-19.

The online guide includes general prevention tips, resources on disinfecting at home and communication pointers with loved ones about "new realities" and "emotional challenges" brought on by the pandemic. The tips and tricks can also help keep families healthy during the standard cold and flu season.

"As we continue to contend with the challenges from COVID-19, people are looking for guidance that will give them a sense of confidence and comfort that they're taking the right steps to help them keep their families safe," said Clorox Chair and CEO Benno Dorer. "Bringing together the knowledge and expertise we've each developed over the course of 100 years - for Clorox in serving the cleaning and disinfecting needs of households and for Cleveland Clinic in serving patient needs - is important. Our hope is that the guide will contribute to the collective action necessary to beat the pandemic," Dorer continued.

The first guide, Six Building Blocks of a Robust Cleaning and Disinfection Program, was aimed at helping employers with training, product selection and developing thorough cleaning and disinfecting processes to create safer environments.

The Clinic offers free resources to help organizations safely resume operations on their website, which also includes a series of return to work guides developed for multiple industries. They also host a digital series on topics spanning from infection prevention to employee resiliency.
