CLEVELAND — Authorities announced more citations Sunday that were issued against a trio of bars and restaurants overnight in regard to alleged COVID-19 safety violations.

Agents from the Ohio Investigative United cited the establishments “after receiving complaints of blatant violations of orders in place to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.”

“When egregious violations are observed, enforcement action is taken,” said OIU Enforcement Commander Eric Wolf. “We all need to continue to work together by following the precautions put in place to make these establishments safe and compliant with the directives.”

Here are the overnight citations as outlined by OIU:

CLEVELAND

Acropolis Restaurant & Taverna LTD, operating as Cleveland’s Local Eatery, Cleveland, received an administrative citation for limitation on hours for sales and on-premises consumption. Agents received a complaint alleging that patrons were inside consuming alcoholic beverages after hours with the doors locked and windows covered to conceal the activity. Agents arrived at the premises at approximately midnight and found the windows covered, doors locked and approximately 12 to 15 patrons inside consuming alcoholic beverages.

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE

La Richies Pavilion Inc., known as Pavilion Restaurant, Geneva On-the-Lake, received an administrative citation for improper conduct – disorderly activity after being cited on the previous night for similar violations. For the second night in a row, agents visited the establishment and observed areas of the premises tightly packed with patrons making it difficult to move throughout the bar without directly contacting others. Patrons at the bar were shoulder-to-shoulder attempting to order drinks.

WILLOWICK

EOJZUS Inc., known as Bogside Pub, Willowick, received an administrative citation for limitation on hours for sales and on-premises consumption. Agents visited the establishment after receiving several complaints about compliance violations. Agents witnessed the continuous sales and service of alcoholic beverages after 10:15 p.m.

“These cases will go before the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for potential penalties, including fines and/or the suspension or revocation of liquor permits," authorities said.
