Gojo Industries give employees raises, more benefits among coronavirus work surge

All workers will receive an average bonus of $1,000, plus other benefits.

AKRON, Ohio — Gojo workers have been working practically non-stop since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, and earlier this week the Akron-based company announced a number of added benefits in response to the increased work load.

Gojo Executive Chair Marcella Kanfer Rolnick said in a press release that the company is dedicated to helping people stay healthy, "and, while we respond, to keeping ourselves safe and healthy."

To support workers who've been putting in many hours during the coronavirus outbreak— trying to keep the shelves stocked with Purell hand sanitizer—the company is, among other things:

  • Giving employees a Supply Chain bonus of an average of $1,000 for workers in manufacturing and distribution.
  • Increasing paid sick time to up to 80 hours
  • Implementing temperature screenings at all locations, Governor Mike DeWine's recommendation.
  • Providing psychological and financial counselors at no cost
  • Offering Pandemic Child Care

Gojo President and CEO Carey Jaros also spoke out about his employees' work during this time, calling their efforts "tireless."
