Menchie's permanently closing all Northeast Ohio frozen yogurt locations due to COVID-19 pandemic

"Farewell and thank you!"

CLEVELAND — There is sad news to report for local fans of Menchie's Frozen Yogurt.

In a social media post on Monday, the popular frozen yogurt chain announced that it would be closing its Northeast Ohio and Erie, PA-area locations permanently. 

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce due to the current pandemic we will be closing all of our Northeast Ohio and Erie, PA locations permanently. It has been a pleasure serving you over the years! Thanks for all the smiles!"

Menchie's locations in Northeast Ohio include Avon, Westlake, Cleveland, Brooklyn, South Euclid, Fairlawn, and North Canton. There are more than 500 locations worldwide. 

According to Menchie's Northeast Ohio Facebook page, Menchie's in Wadsworth is not part of the group of stores that is closing.
