As Ohio continues to battle the coronavirus (COVID-19), Governor Mike DeWine has issued an order aimed at protecting the state's senior citizens.
On Friday, DeWine announced that he has issued an executive order to close the state's senior citizen centers at the close of business on Monday. Additionally, senior citizen daycare centers will also be closing.
As of Friday, there have been 169 positive cases of the coronavirus in Ohio, 39 of which have resulted in hospitalization and one of which has resulted in death. Those cases have spanned 28 counties across Ohio.
Dating back to the discovery of first positive coronavirus case in Ohio on March 9, DeWine has issued a number of orders aimed at preventing the spread of the virus, including the banning of mass gatherings of more than 50 people, the closure of bars and restaurants, gyms, hair salons, movie theaters and BMVs, closing schools for at least three weeks and a restriction against elective surgeries.
