While essential businesses in Ohio remain open, the state is requiring that those businesses follow safe practices during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In return, those businesses have asked Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted to share seven rules they would like customers to follow in order to promote safe practices including physical distancing.
Those guidelines include:
- Keep space between you and others
- Shop patiently
- Limit shopping trips
- Shop alone when possible
- Stay home when you're not feeling well
- Wash/sanitize hands before and after
- Don't touch your face while shopping
- Wear a mask/gloves if you can
- Shop online for curbside pickup/delivery
As of Wednesday, Ohio has had 2,547 confirmed coronavirus cases, 679 of which have resulted in hospitalization, 222 Intensive Care Unit admissions and 65 deaths. Dating back to the discovery of the state's first positive coronavirus case on March 9, DeWine has taken a number of measures to encourage physical distancing, including issuing a stay-at-home order across the state set to last through at least April 6.
