Cleveland's Proof restaurant temporarily closes as coronavirus precaution

Although no staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, the restaurant's owners decided to temporary close as a safety measure.

CLEVELAND — As Ohio continues to see a growing number of newly reported coronavirus cases, one Cleveland restaurant has decided to close its doors again as a safety precaution even though none of their staff has tested positive for COVID-19.

Proof Cleveland, which is located in the 2200 block of Professor Avenue, announced their decision to temporarily close on Facebook.

"Due to the resurgence of positive COVID-19 in Cuyahoga County, we have decided to temporarily pause operations at Proof Bar BQ," their post said. "While none of our staff has tested positive we want to do our best to guarantee our customers and staff stay safe. We will keep you updated on our plans and look forward to seeing all of you when the smoke clears."

Ohio's 21-day average has seen an increase throughout the last two weeks as the daily coronavirus numbers have consistently climbed.
