University Hospitals is offering COVID-19 testing using its mobile units in Northeast Ohio this weekend. The units being used were first in the state to be completely mobile and self-contained. They were introduced by UH back in September of last year.

The testing, available to anyone 18 years old or older, will be available at two local churches on Saturday, January 23.

The information for testing locations are:

  • Builders of Faith Ministries

3125 E. 93rd Street

Cleveland, Ohio 44104

10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

  • Greater Whitestone Baptist Church

3348 E.93rd Street

Cleveland, OH 44104

2p.m.  – 5 p.m.

The hospital system selected these locations to address the fact that the pandemic has affected minorities disproportionately. Black and Hispanics see more cases and deaths due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but they also have less access to testing.

"University Hospitals is dedicated to providing healthcare in these underserved areas across the region," the healthcare system stated in a press release.

Those looking to get tested will need to provide their name, address, social security number and insurance card. Insurance is not required.

Results can be expect within 24- 48 hours either by phone or online. If a patient does not have access to a phone or the internet, UH will hand-deliver positive test results.

* It’s important to note that this is not “free testing.” While UH will not collect payment from patients at the time of testing, if a patient has insurance, UH will work with their insurance plan to process claims for COVID-19 testing and associated services. If a patient is uninsured and qualifies for coverage under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, UH will submit their claim for eligible coverage under this program for as long as the program is available.
