Summit County Public Health offering $100 incentive for those who get a COVID-19 vaccine

Those who get their first dose of a COVID vaccine will get a $100 gift card.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — If you have not gotten your COVID-19 vaccine yet, you can get it in Summit County and get a $100 gift card, too.

Summit County Public Health announced Monday that it would offer $100 Visa or MasterCard gift cards to any Ohio resident 12 and over. To be eligible, you must be getting your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will be available).

The incentive will begin on August 27 during a drive-through vaccine clinic at 1867 W. Market St. in Akron from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The incentive will continue at all public SCPH clinics while supplies last.

The incentive is a one-time deal and only available while supplies last. Officials will be verifying first dose status in the State of Ohio's vaccination registry.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the state of Ohio and across the country, SPCH is encouraging everyone, particularly those who are not vaccinated yet, to keep practicing safe and effective behaviors to reduce the spread of COVID-19. That includes:

  • Stay home if you are sick, even if your symptoms are mild
  • Be mindful in interactions with others, including limiting your chances of exposure by maintaining social distancing
  • Wear masks in public
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitizer frequently
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Cover coughs and sneezes

If you have questions, call the COVID-19 Call Line (330) 926-5795. The call line is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
