Watch again: Gov. DeWine, Dr. Amy Acton give latest updates on coronavirus pandemic in Ohio

More than 5,100 people in the state have tested positive for the virus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine gave more updates on Ohio's coronavirus response as the state prepares to reach its peak in the pandemic.

The state currently has more than 5,100 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 193 deaths. More than 470 of those total patients have been admitted to the ICU.

DeWine will be joined by Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted. All have lauded state residents for the role they have played in "flattening the curve," and Dr. Acton today says studies now project the state's peak to see 1,600 new cases per day (down from 10,000). However, they stress more work needs to be done.
