CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — Health officials say a 33-year-old man from North Olmsted recently died from a flu-related illness.

His death was confirmed Friday as the Cuyahoga County Board of Health released new flu data for the week of Feb. 2-8.

In this same time frame, there were also 115 confirmed cases of flu-associated hospitalizations.

The data also showed flu activity remained “very high” for the second consecutive week.

Since the last week of December, there have been nine flu-related deaths in Cuyahoga County – two of which were reported last week. There have also been a total of 2,655 flu-related emergency room visits with 813 hospitalizations.

If you haven't done so yet, health officials say it's not too late to get a flu shot.
