Summa Health gives preview of new Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion in Akron

The $84 million facility will address mental health, addiction treatment, and traumatic stress.

AKRON, Ohio — There is a huge need for mental health and addiction treatment in Northeast Ohio. Summa Health has responded with its new $84 million Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion.

The facility, located in the heart of Summa Health's Akron Campus, drives home the point that mental health and medical care are equal. Patients will have access to both in the seven-floor, 159,000-square foot facility. Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion features 64 inpatient psych beds with 16 private inpatient rooms on each unit.

The facility will feature the following:

Addiction treatment

  • Partial Hospitalization
  • Intensive outpatient
  • Hospital-based detox (located across the bridge in the hospital)

Mental Health Services

  • Outpatient psychiatry
  • Inpatient behavioral health
  • Inpatient geriatric behavioral health
  • Traumatic Stress Center

This Saturday, Summa Health will hold an open house and ribbon cutting at the new facility on 45 Arch Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. so the community can come in for a look. There will be tours, refreshments, prizes and more. Parking is free. 

The facility will officially open to patients at the end of this month.
