LORAIN, Ohio — Fall is on its way, meaning flu season will soon follow.
Lorain County Public Health will begin providing flu shots Nov. 1. According to health officials, November is the best time to get a flu shot in Northeast Ohio, as it offers the best protection through peak flu season.
Flu virus cases are most severe between January and March in Northeast Ohio, according to Lorain County Public Health Commissioner David Covell.
“Everyone knows someone who is at high risk for complications from the flu virus. Our loved ones with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, heart and lung disease, diabetes and cancers may have more health problems if they get the flu virus,” Covell said in a news release issued Tuesday. “Get your flu shot to help others.”
