Popular therapy treatment uses heat to improve your health

A popularity health trend has some steamy benefits.

This new year, many people are determined to focus on their health. That not only means weight loss, but better sleep, but managing pain and chronic diseases too.

There’s a new trend that is proven to relieve ailments and help with everything from high blood pressure to diabetes: infrared saunas.

Infrared saunas are gaining in popularity and according to the Mayo Clinic, a little time in these hot rooms, has been shown to relieve arthritis, treat high blood pressure and diabetes.

J Bellezza in Pinecrest has two state of the art saunas. Owner Jenna Dashnaw shows Maureen Kyle how this hot therapy works.

The saunas reach up to about 140 degrees in temperature.

“It's slow paced heat, so it's buildable heat, it’s not like your traditional sauna,” said Deshnaw.

Dashnaw, says a sauna treatment a few times a week is the max for health benefits.
