University Hospitals joins Western Reserve Hospital as minority partner

UH says the partnership will provide Western Reserve patients with more options and easier access to things like clinical trials and other initiatives

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Western Reserve Hospital and University Hospitals (UH) have agreed to a partnership that would make UH a minority stakeholder in Western Reserve.

As part of the agreement, UH has pledged to work with Western Reserve to bring improvements like upgrades to facilities, equipment and services.

According to UH President Cliff Megerian, among those improved and expanded services will be access to quaternary card and clinical trials at Western Reserve Hospital.

"We look forward to the benefits of this new relationship with University Hospitals, and the opportunity to deliver our one-of-a-kind healthcare experience to even more patients across the region," Western Reserve Hospital President and CEO Robert Kent said in a press release. "Since day one we have been working to increase access to a higher level of care services for our local communities, and this collaboration with University Hospitals will allow us to further that work by bringing even greater clinical sophistication to Summit County.”
