Investigator | Daycare for Aniya Day-Garrett failed to report abuse

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mike O'Malley says his office is looking into possible criminal violations.

EUCLID — The state says the daycare for Aniya Day-Garrett failed to report abuse to county protective services as required by law.

And now, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mike O'Malley is getting involved, saying his office is looking into possible criminal violations.

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services doesn't specify how many cases of abuse and neglect involve Aniya while she was in the care of Harbor Crest Childcare Academy in Euclid. The 4-year-old child died last month after 14 incidents of abuse were investigated by Euclid Police. The cases detail a variety of injuries including bruises, bumps and black eyes.
