AKRON, Ohio — "That’s all I want for them to be is nice kids in the community and help each other."
Those are the words of Brenda Knowles-Swain regarding the youngsters behind the "4 Bros and a Sis" lemonade stand on East Market Street in Akron.
"We love making people smile."
From blueberry to pineapple, and of course the staple lemonade, 4 Bro’s and a Sis have been working hard for every costumer who stops by!
"We get firefighters, police officers and bus drivers," Troy Knowles said. "A lot of people come out to support us."
They even share their front lawn with a friend who sells homemade cookies to go with that tall glass of lemonade
"Working together is so much better," Xyia West said. "I can help them and they can help me. If somebody buys my cookies they can buy their lemonade."
But business wasn’t always sweet. Two years ago the small business was shut down because they didn’t have the proper permits.
"I went down to the city got permits, and got them what they needed and here they are now!"
A sour setback that only pushed them to work harder. But like the saying goes: When life hands you lemons you make lemonade.
"Come try our lemonade."
