Two Akron men are facing federal charges in connection with a January SWAT raid on their Lake St. home.

Justin D. Martin and Brandon L. Sheridan, both 32, are accused of using the house at 106 Lake St. as a base for their drug trafficking operations. They are each charged with conspiracy with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.

A raid on the home back on Jan. 10 uncovered more than 1,000 grams of meth, 14 firearms (four of which were reported stolen), ammunition, and more than $7,000 cash. Authorities also discovered body armor that had been reported stolen from the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

Along with Martin and Sheridan, 28-year-old Starla M. Watkins was also arrested at the time. She later pleaded guilty in Summit County Common Pleas Court just last week to aggravated possession of drugs and endangering children, and was sentenced to two years probation.

The case is still under investigation by the Akron Police Department and the FBI. A trial date has not yet been set.
