Akron police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man outside Luei's Market Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say 27-year-old Jarvell Henderson was taken into custody without incident on Akron's west side. He will be booked into the Summit County Jail and faces aggravated robbery and aggravated murder charges.
Henderson is accused of robbing Luei's Carryout on Hammel St. shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday. A customer who witnessed the incident—since identified as 59-year-old David Dzatko of Akron—sprayed Henderson with a chemical mace, causing Henderson to shoot him. Dzatko later died at a local hospital.
Henderson, who originally fled through a neighboring apartment complex, was identified using an out-of-state ID card he dropped at the scene. U.S. Marshals assisted the Akron Police Department in his capture.
