Akron Police seek information on hit-skip that killed 62-year-old woman

The suspect vehicle is believed to be silver in color.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying the suspect in a hit-and run crash that claimed the life of a 62-year-old woman.

The woman was in the roadway on South Arlington Street at Georgia Avenue around 5:45 p.m. when she was stuck by a vehicle. The woman, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Akron City Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

The suspect fled the scene of the crash after striking the woman. The suspect vehicle is believed to be silver in color.

Officials are still working to investigate the circumstances of the case. It is unknow why the victim was in the roadway or what her condition was at the time of the accident.
