Police: Teen killed in Akron shooting

It happened Sunday night on 4th Avenue.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old man.

According to a press release from the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, it happened just before 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Avenue.

Officers were called there for a report of a "shooting victim." When they arrived, they found the teen lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, the release said.

He was taken to Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The man's name has not yet been released.
