Akron Public Schools will be closed Tuesday.
In a message posted to the district's website, it sights frigid temperatures and snow-covered sidewalks as the reason for the closure.
"Akron Public Schools will be closed due to inclement weather Tuesday, January 22, 2019. APS wants its students and families to exercise caution in these frigid conditions. Temperatures Tuesday morning are forecast to be below zero, and residential snow plowing will likely not be far enough along to ensure safe travel for school buses, motorists and pedestrians. We encourage those who can to shovel their sidewalks and driveway approaches for students when classes do resume."
