AKRON — Thousands of donated jewelry items will take center stage this weekend for an annual fundraiser to benefit ACCESS, Inc., an Akron homeless shelter for women and children.

More than 25,000 pieces of jewelry, which will be available to purchase for $5 per piece, have been donated to the organization and have been cleaned by Signet Jewelers and volunteers.

The Jewelry Box sale will take place at the Fairlawn DoubleTree on Sat. Nov. 3, 2018. Proceeds will benefit ACCESS, which provides shelter, programs and services for women and children.

A VIP Party is also planned on Friday, Nov. 2 where shoppers can sign up to be among the first to purchase the displayed jewelry. A “Happy Hour” event will take place on Saturday where guests can purchase a ticket to shop the items for $1 per piece.
