AKRON -- For one weekend every summer, Akron is the center of the golf world.
2018 marks the 65th year of the Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club, but on Thursday morning, we officially find out if it could be the tournament's last here.
It's expected that the invitational will be heading to Memphis.
Back in February, we reported a tweet from a Golf Channel contributor that pointed to the Bridgestone leaving in 2019, replaced with the PGA Senior Players.
Now, the city that bleeds Bridgestone for one weekend a year waits for official word.
On Tuesday night, Dawn Kendrick ventured down to Akron to talk to members of the business community who say it will be "hugely disappointing" to the fans, businesses and people of Akron if the tournament moves away. Watch their story in the video below.
