AKRON, Ohio — Heads up!

There’s an important deadline quickly approaching for some residents in Summit County as the second half of real estate taxes are due for manufactured homeowners on Sunday, July 31.

Since that date is on a weekend, however, the Summit County Fiscal Office says that deadline can apply to Monday, Aug. 1.

Payments can be made one of the following ways:

  • In-person at the Summit County Fiscal Office at 1030 East Tallmadge Avenue in Akron. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. A drop box is also available at the front door of the department.
  • By mail, which must be postmarked by July 31 to avoid a statutory 10 percent penalty for a later payment.

Assistance is also available to manufactured homeowners who have delinquent taxes.

“The Delinquent Tax Payment Program offers help to those who have fallen behind on tax payments,” according to the Summit County Fiscal Office. “By entering into a written delinquent tax contract, manufactured homeowners will establish a monthly payment and unpaid taxes will not be subject to further penalty or interest”

For more details on the Delinquent Tax Payment Program, you can call 330-630-7226.
