Akron police investigating after 35-year-old woman, 31-year-old man killed in separate Monday morning shootings

Police tell 3News that both shootings are currently under investigation.

Detectives with the Akron Police Department are investigating today after two fatal shootings took place in the early hours of Monday morning. 

According to officials, the first shooting took place in the 1400 block of Minson Way around 5:30 a.m. when police received calls for an unknown emergency.

Upon arrival at the above address, officers found 35-year-old Occa Onia Bernice Edison who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. 

Less than a half-hour later, the Akron Police Department received a call for a reported shooting in the 1100 block of Tarson Terrrace. At this address, police officers discovered 31-year-old Tyree Isaiah Thomas who also had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Both incidents are under investigation and there is no additional information. There is no suspect description at this time.
