Ashland named to Airbnb's top 10 most-hospitable cities in the United States list

The data found that Ashland ranked among the top 10 cities for volume of five-star-reviews on their app

ASHLAND, Ohio — Ahead of World Tourism Day on September 27, Airbnb has unveiled its list of the top 10 most hospitable cities in the U.S.

Each of the cities received the highest percentage of listings with five-star-reviews between June of 2019 to June of 2020.

Among notable places like; Lexingon, North Carolina; Hamilton, New York; and Selma, Alabama; Ashland, Ohio also made it onto the list.

"Ashland, Ohio is among the top ten most hospitable cities according to Airbnb, with Ashland Airbnb hosts providing some of the most exceptional experiences in the nation to travelers -- from providing for the utmost cleanliness and privacy to helping to immerse their guests in the local Ashland community," says Liz DeBold Fusco, a spokesperson for Airbnb.

The remaining six cities include:

  • Kingston Springs, Tennessee
  • Campobello, South Carolina
  • Saint Johnsbury, Vermont
  • Winona Lake, Indiana
  • Sanbornton, New Hampshire
  • Loomis, California

Overall, Airbnb also found some interesting results regarding travel trends in the U.S., and around the world.

"Our data shows a shift in travel away from urban destinations and toward more rural areas and smaller communities," a press release from Airbnb reads, "For example, in August, more guests stayed in the Catskills and Hudson Valley than stayed in New York City."

Airbnb also noted that while there are many things that are important to travelers, many guests will base their entire review on the cleanliness of the property they are staying at.

"Ninety-four percent of all Airbnb reviews show that guests are satisfied with cleaning alone, scoring it at four or five stars after their stays."
