ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — Two women are dead and one man has been injured following a crash in Ashtabula County late Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Ford Escape being driven by 56-year-old Minda Shun of Western Ohio was traveling east on South Denmark Road when she failed to yield to a Ford F-150 at the State Route 193 intersection. The truck, headed northbound on that road, slammed into the car around 5:34 p.m.
Both Shun and her passenger, 77-year-old Judith Huggins of Dorset, died at the scene. Officials say Huggins was wearing her seatbelt, but Shun was not. The 21-year-old man who was driving the pickup was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation.
