ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office reports that a missing woman from New York has been located safely in Sheffield Township.

"We are pleased to report this young lady has been found and will be reunited with her family. She is being checked by EMS at this time and was found walking along Plymouth Ridge Rd. Near Greenhill Road. Thank you to all who shared our information and we are thankful for a good outcome," Sheriff William Johnson wrote on the department's Facebook page.

Tonya Marie Lombardo of Rome, New York, was on her way to visit family in Middletown when her car broke down on Route 11. She was last seen in the 2300 block of Plymouth-Gageville Road about 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Lombardo knocked on the door of a residence and asked to use the bathroom. The residents offered to let her stay in their garage and she accepted.

When they got up this morning, she was gone.
