Canton Police: Man fatally shot during domestic incident

CANTON, Ohio — Police in Canton are investigating a shooting incident that took the life of a man on Monday morning. 

According to Chief Jack Angelo, officers responded to the call of shots fired at a house in the 3000 Block of Rem Circle N.E. at 7:45 a.m.   

When they arrived, police found a male victim unresponsive on the rear porch. The victim suffered an apparent gun shot wound to the back. 

The Stark County Coroners Office responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

Detectives discovered that the victim came to the residence in regards to a domestic situation involving an ex-girlfriend.  

The victim was involved in a physical altercation with another subject when he was shot.
