The chocolates that apparently made four Canton middle school students sick Wednesday contained THC, according to tests conducted by the Canton Stark County Crime Lab.

According to police, the chocolates were brought to Lehman Middle School by a student who apparently knew the chocolates contained the marijuana chemical before giving them to her classmates. Officials add they "have no reason to believe the students who ingested the chocolates knew it contained THC."

The incident remains under investigation, with findings to be referred to the Stark County Prosecutor's Office.
