It's a cold and snowy day in Northeast Ohio, but many in the area are still finding a reason to celebrate.
February 16 just so happens to share a numeric date with Cleveland's area code, 216, and many on social media have turned it into a small holiday honoring "the land" and sharing their favorite things about the city.
"To celebrate #216Day in Cleveland, here are the Top 3 reasons I love the CLE: 1. Great people live here 2. Lake Erie 3. Food and beer scene," said Twiter user Renee DeLuca on Tuesday. "I moved to NE Ohio in the 80s, moved away a few years ago, but I'm back to stay. It gets under your skin."
Another Twitter user simply wrote "Happy #216Day" sharing the iconic final moments from game 7 of the 2016 NBA finals, in which the Cleveland Cavaliers beat out the Golden State Warriors to bring home a major sports championship for the first time in decades.
On Instagram, one photoshop expert shared an incredible picture of the Cleveland skyline from Edgewater Park, writing "happy 216 Day!!! πππ€ #thisiscle #216day #ilovethiscity."
Run With The Winners, a Cleveland-based running group, held their second annual "2-1-6 Day Run" in which they challenged runners of Northeast Ohio to run exactly 2.16 miles, and to spell out "2-1-6" on the route.
No matter how you are celebrating today, we wish you all a happy #216Day!
