CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating today after a 24-year-old woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Feb. 6.
Police say they responded to a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 1800s block of East 9th Street in Cleveland. The call said that a female had been shot on the 19th floor of the building.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the woman in the stairwell, and immediately began providing first-aid and life-saving care to the victim until EMS arrived.
The 24-year-old was transported to MetroHealth where she was pronounced dead.
At this time, it is believed that the woman was at a party being held between two separate buildings until a fight broke out and the victim fled the are. An unknown suspect is said to have chased the victim as she entered the stairwell.
No arrests have been made and this matter remains under investigation.
