CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigation the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man, Tuesday.
Officials responded to the 144000 block of Maplerow Avenue around 1 a.m. for reports of man suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Edward Lawson III, was found unresponsive in the kitchen of a home. EMS arrived and provided care, however, Lawson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police investigations, Lawson was inside of the home asleep when someone knocked on the door. When he answered, he was fatally shot several times.
Officials believe the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a dark colored SUV.
Information on a possible motive or any additional information on potential suspects has not yet been provided by police.
