CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigation the shooting of a 3-year-old boy Thursday.
Officials responded to MetroHealth Medical Center for reports of a 3-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. The shooting occurred at a home in the 3200 block of West 38th Street, police confirm.
According to reports, the boy's caregivers allege that the child may have accidentally shot himself after finding the gun. The child is expected to make a full recovery.
The child's father was taken into custody on weapons charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
