CLEVELAND — U.S. Coast Guard crews are currently searching for a boater who went missing in Lake Erie sometime Sunday off of Cleveland Harbor.

Metroparks police reported an "overdue boater" around 7 p.m., and a short time later Coast Guard crews found a boat floating in the water about a mile away from the harbor with no one on board. A life jacket and cell phone were found, however.

Multiple boats and helicopters from places like Detroit and Ontario, Canada have been assisting in the search. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and state police have also been called in to help.

This is a developing story. Please stay with WKYC for any further updates.
