CLEVELAND – Implementing Cleveland's federally ordered consent decree is expected to cost the city more than $13.24 million next year.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's office released the price projections Wednesday afternoon.

Beginning in 2017, the associated reoccuring costs will come in at roughly $8.08 million.

In May, the U.S. Department of Justice and the city entered into an agreement that would target the city's police reform plans. A U.S. district court judge then approved the plan, moving the city into a consent decree in mid-June.

The areas of the city's reform efforts now  include looking at community engagement efforts, training and crisis intervention, policy review and revision, internal review, accountability and oversight, and equipment and personnel resources.

Jackson's office adds those figures do not represent the full cost . The office is still waiting on an impending equipment and personnel study, and will then factor that into the total price of the agreement.
