Northeast Ohio 'March for Our Lives' rallies: What you need to know

On Saturday, thousands of people will meet in Public Square for the local March for Our Lives, a nationwide effort to grab the attention of lawmakers on gun control.

High school students across Northeast Ohio are saying enough is enough when it comes to gun violence.

On Saturday, thousands of people will meet in Cleveland's Public Square for one of several local "March for Our Lives," events, part of a nationwide effort to grab the attention of lawmakers on gun control.

On the Cleveland March for Our Lives Facebook page, organizers wrote: "On March 24, we will March For Our Lives in Cleveland, Ohio to stand up and say we will not tolerate inaction. We DEMAND action on gun control in this country and we demand it NOW."

The main March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. was organized by survivors of the Stoneman Douglas shooting but its effects have been far-reaching. Seventeen people were killed in the school massacre.

More than 800 events are planned worldwide, including participation from other countries and hundreds of cities.
