Cleveland Metroparks announce Sounds of Summer concert series

Live music is coming to Merwin’s Wharf and iconic locations across the Emerald Necklace this summer.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks announced a free traveling concert series coming to the Emerald Necklace this spring and summer. 

The concert series is called Sounds of Summer presented by Wayside Furniture.

The events will feature local bands playing in the Metroparks' most iconic locations on the last Friday of each month. Each concert will feature a beer garden and food trucks, however guests are encouraged to bring food, a chair while enjoying the music. 

Sounds of Summer begins on May 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the former U.S. Coast Guard Station in Lakefront Reservation.

Here is the full schedule and lineup:

  • May 27 – historic former U.S. Coast Guard Station, Lakefront Reservation
    • featuring Billy Likes Soda / 80s-current covers
  • June 24 – Wildwood Marina, Euclid Creek Reservation
    • featuring The Level Up Band / R&B and Soul
  • July 29 – Stinchcomb Memorial, Rocky River Reservation
    • featuring The Mourning Glory Band / Classic Rock
  • August 26 – Huntington Beach, Huntington Reservation
    • featuring Carlos Jones and the PLUS Band / Reggae
  • September 30 – Squire’s Castle, North Chagrin Reservation
    • featuring Cleveland’s Breakfast Club - 80s covers

New Merwin’s Wharf Summer Happy Hour

Beginning May 17, experience the best patio along the Cuyahoga River with Merwin’s Wharf new Summer Happy Hour. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. enjoy live music, lawn games and food trucks. The famous Merwin's Big Pretzel, full bar and free parking will also be available at Merwin’s Wharf. Visit clevelandmetroparks.com/HappyHour for more information.

  • Thursday-Sunday – noon to 9 p.m.

Edgewater Beach House – opens May 14:

  • Wednesday-Sunday – noon to 8 p.m.

The Noshery – opens May 18:

  • Wednesday-Sunday – noon to 9 p.m.

Emerald Necklace Marina Café – opens May 25:

  • Wednesday-Sunday – noon to 8 p.m.

Wildwood Marina Concession – opens May 25:

  • Wednesday-Sunday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Concessions & Amenities

The Edgewater Nature Shop returns May 27, offering beach amenities seven days a week including cabanas, umbrellas and more as well as Cleveland Metroparks gear, snacks and beverages. The Cleveland Public Library Book Box is also expected to be open at Edgewater Beach on Memorial Day Weekend offering family programming, crafts and books. Watercraft rentals including pontoons, kayaks, stand up paddleboards and more are also returning to Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store seven days a week beginning May 27.

Park concessions at Wallace Lake and Edgewater Pier will open daily beginning May 28. Additional concession areas at Euclid Beach and Hinckley Spillway will open weekends only beginning June 4.

Water Taxi

eLCee2 Water Taxi – begins free service between the East and West Bank of The Flats on Friday, May 27:

  • Friday 4 to 7 p.m.
