STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Get ready to slide into the holiday season.
The Cleveland Metroparks opened the Chalet at Mill Stream Run Reservation to tobogganers on Friday.
The Chalet offers the tallest and fastest toboggan chutes in the state, featuring a 70-foot drop along a 700-foot ice path. Riders can reach speeds of 50 miles per hour.
The twin chutes operate with or without snow, as long as temperatures remain below 50 degrees.
Riders must wear gloves or mittens and be at least 42 inches tall to ride.
The Chalet also offers fireplaces and a snack bar serving hot chocolate for riders to warm up.
The chutes are only open on weekends during the following times:
- Fridays: 6-10:30 p.m.
- Saturdays: 12-10:30 p.m.
- Sundays: 12-5 p.m.
