CLEVELAND — One of Cleveland's favorite summer events will return a little later than usual this year.
The Cleveland Orchestra on Thursday announced the date of its annual Star-Spangled Spectacular, set to happen Aug. 7. According to a news release, the date was pushed back to August due to the MLB All-Star Game taking place in Cleveland in early July. The event typically happens around the 4th of July.
The free event brings a live performance by the Cleveland Orchestra to downtown Cleveland's Mall B.
The concert, led by guest conductor Loras John Schissel, will feature classical and patriotic scores followed by a fireworks display.
Pre-concert performances will begin at 6 p.m. that evening before the Cleveland Orchestra performs at 9 p.m.
In the event of rain, the event will move to the Cleveland Public Auditorium on Lakeside Avenue.
