CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police officer accused of soliciting prostitution is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Feb. 19.

Sgt. Michael Rybarczyk, 58, faces 11 counts of solicitation of prostitution following an internal investigation by the Cleveland police internal affairs unit.

The city of Cleveland says Rybarczyk is a 29-year veteran of the Cleveland force and was recently assigned to the city's First district.

He has been placed on restricted duty pending the outcome of his case, which was filed Monday in Cleveland Municipal Court.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police website, Rybarczyk received a Distinguished Service Medal for his role in a 2012 arrest.
