CLEVELAND — A 58-year-old Cleveland man is scheduled to learn his fate this week in a case the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office says dates back to October when Desmen Ramsey “called an individual to kill his son for money.”

That phone call, however, was made to the wrong number, and prosecutors say “that person reported the suspicious phone calls and voicemail to the Westlake Police Department.”

Ramsey was arrested on Oct. 13.

His sentencing is set for 10 a.m. Thursday before Judge David Matia. We plan to stream the sentencing live inside this story. You can also watch live coverage on our YouTube channel (subscribe here).

Earlier this month, Ramsey pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault in the case.

This story will be updated with details from the sentencing hearing.
